12 Steps to Self Care

It is important to know that you were born with innate wellbeing!

You had to learn to think yourself away from your wellbeing, towards misery with insecure thoughts – personal or conditioned, leading to a feeling of unhappiness.

You are not born sceptical or negative, doubt of self and self-criticism, negativity and pessimism are the result of negative thoughts that you have learned to take seriously and believe as reality. A child would never ask am I good enough? This is a learned behaviour.

You are the thinker and creator of your experience, the thoughts on their own have no power until you give them meaning or make a judgement around them. When you hand over the power to your thoughts, you lose your true sense of self.
Your thoughts have no power to harm you other than the power you give them….

As you become more aware of your self, you can unlearn the negative thoughts that go through your head and do not take them seriously. Laugh at the illusion as if it is dream and you will return to your wellbeing very quickly, as the thoughts are dismissed and you are then transported to a place of elevation and heightened feeling of just being ok.

Your innate wellbeing may feel foreign to you because when you are experiencing it, you usually do not even know it. It is such a simple uncomplicated feeling that you do not take notice. It’s not a feeling like excitement that you can easily describe, in fact your innate wellbeing is easier to describe in its absence. Or it is the feeling you get when you are able to be touched by the simple things in life…. Like nature

Show up as you and enjoy the feeling and sense that beauty of just being in the moment.

“You don’t always need a plan, sometimes, you just need to breathe, let go and trust to see what happens…..”

Why do we not accept this as our Solution?

“Happiness is a choice, not a result. Nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy. No person will make you happy unless you decide to be happy. Your happiness will not come to you. It can only come from you.”

Here are 12 steps to Self Care to help you to live as your authentic self

1. If it feels wrong, most likely it is wrong for you

2. Say exactly what you mean.

3. Please yourself – do what makes you happy

4. Trust your instincts

5. Speak kindly to yourself as you would others

6. Always chase your dreams

7. You can say YES

8. You can also say NO

9. Be kind to yourself ALWAYS

10. Let go of what is out of your control

11. Stay away from Drama and Negativity

12. Love (of self)
